![]() This give a great head-start in the game from a secure base that doesn't currently trigger drone attacks like a Base from a Start Block does. CPU!) and other things of value, as well as blocks for Steel Plates. With my base established, I make a Multi-tool as soon as I am able, and begin reclaiming things like Thrusters (adv. I try to secure any holes in the wreck, depending which section I'm in - I had a load of those alien humanoid bug things coming in one time - and place a basic Sentry Turret if needed. I then place the Fuel Tank, Generator and Large Constructor & power up my new base. Once I've managed to build a Core, basic fuel tank, Generator and Large Constructor, I take out the Alien Core and replace it with my own. I next start to excavate the wreck, depending how deep it's buried, exposing more POI Cargo Boxes and loot. However, as soon as I encounter a Titan Wreck section (be it front, middle or back) I tend to secure it (kill any protecting drones) loot any readily exposed POI Cargo Boxes and camp out inside with the Survival Constructor deployed. It's actually a favourite early-game activity for me, I crash in the pod, explore, mine a few resources etc. At that point the titan is inside your base radius and you probably "own" and control all the materials in it, so things like the multi-tool can be used to break down blocks. I wouldn't say this is the last word, but it appears the way to "salvage" an entire POI is to do what I just did: 1. As you can see, the block is orienting along the axis of the Titan wreck (not my wood block roof) and it is blue. This shot shows me attempting to place a wood block on top of the last wood block I had placed (which actually overlaps with a piece of the Titan wreck). So with my undergound area prepared (in case this didn't work I didn't want a core exposed out in the open, and I wanted at least a temporary spot from which to get more built up) I built a roof over the core (which is perhaps 2 meters below the surface and then extended the roof back toward the Titan.Īnd lo and behold! It appears that the Titan is now MINE! the area of restricted building seems to have been much smaller, like a couple meters boundary area around the titan wreck itself. actually I did that long before, but worth noting. Once the core for the base had been cleared (the icon showing its location has mysteriously come back, but ah well). I then made myself a cubby hole and a tunnel back level with the Titan crash site. However, I finally got the gear to build a starter base, tunneled from inside the Titan site I found down and outward, then up to have a surface entrance so I could see where I was. Have not completely tested it yet (very low on fuel for my drill so I need to get more. ![]() It appears I figured it out and this is a short description. This would make POI worth messing with!īut yep, in case anyone else was wondering how this is done. Yeah, the loot in the inventories is nice, but being able to take control of and then completely dismantle the whole place would be awesome. If it is NOT in fact possible-by any means short of console mode, etc.-to break down the building blocks at a POI, then I'd say that is a major deficiency in the game design that really should be addressed. Please help! I just spawned myself into that awesome 584881 seed with the Crashed Titan at the start and I want to reap the full rewards! I suspect I need to get rid of all the alien/other faction cores, then place my own base core touching a block that is part of the POI, and then I can use the multi-tool on it just like on my own bases and ships? Cargo containers (of various sort) with loot in them (and of course the bad guys that spawn at the POI, else drones that spawn there/come there have loot in them)įrom the beginning, I suspected there must be some way to "break down" the building blocks at a POI and get resources from them, but all my efforts to do this initially and in a little bit of testing do not seem to do anything. Cores, which when destroyed, eliminate that marker from the mapģ. Spawners, which when destroyed prevent new aliens from arrivingĢ. Click to expand.I am aware that POI have:ġ. ![]()
